Fly spray for horses can be safely used for rabbits?
I have a rabbit who lives in a hut outside, and while his cage is cleaned 1-2 times a week, such as flies and bugs seem to follow him (no pun intended). He is litter box trained and try to keep his cage as clean as possible, but as long as there is no single pill out there think the flies simply do not give up. He has developed some scabs under his ears that I assume are due to the itching or irritation of insects. My question is, would it be a safe option for spraying fly spray diluted (formulated for horses) around his cabin / A little in your ears? Or is it too risky? If so, what are some of repellents flight safety for use in proximity w / a rabbit? Thanks for any answers!
No, not safe. Rabbits are very sensitive to chemicals. fly traps outside the cage, natural predatory insects that kill flies and maintenance of the cage scrupulously clean (like every day in summer when there are flies, not once or twice a week) are the best measures. Or, of course, you can bring your rabbit to live inside. They live, on average, twice as long as they remain inside due to a variety of factors, including insect activity.

shooTAG for Horses-Fly and Mosquito $29.95 Repel insects and do the environment a favor with the shooTAG® for Horses – Fly and Mosquito. This unique technology does not use lotions or sprays that can be harmful to the environment, and it is compatible with all other devices such as pacemakers and animal microchips The technology behind shooTAG® is that it creates a “frequency barrier” designed to protect people, pets and animals from insects. According to research, each insect is repelled by a specific frequency— which explains why some packages contain more than one tag. The frequency is encoded into a magnetic strip on the shooTAG® and the product works because the natural energy field created by an animal or person expands the specific frequency, which creates a barrier from insects. When used as instructed, the shoo barrier lasts for up to 4 months. |
